Asia and Cookie

Name: Asia and Cookie
Breed: Mix
Gender: Female
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog for: 9 years and 7 months
Description:

Asia and Cookie suffered the same fate. Both were dumped in front of our gate. Asia was only a small puppy while skinny Cookie was already around five months old.

With this age Cookie was "too old" for the locals and could not be conveyed in our rehome program. Asia needed medicine over a long period of time and eventually became "too old", too.
Due to the limited space we have we placed Asia and Cookie together with two more dogs at th nearby Dalawella temple. Marina Möbius agreed on a deal with the monk: she paid for fencing the temple area and the temple would take in the dogs in return. Unfortunately, soon after, the head monch vanished and had all the dogs borught back to the clinic.
Now, we had to find places for them in our DCC 50+ program. Asia and Cookie had a safe home and their needy foster mum received a monthly pension from us. The DCC 50+ is our social project for animals and people.

Since the DCC 50+ means additional costs for the clinic (approx. 70 Euro per dog per month).

Sadly, Cookie went missing after the Sinhalese New Year. She was probably afraid of the fireworks and ran off.

Asia got caught up by her past in middle of 2020 and died of renal failure.
