When you see Lucky's arrival photos, it's hard to believe that this is an owner dog!
A neighbor reported the dog to us and was very worried about him. Due to a severe disability, the owner was unable to look after Lucky and so he became more and more neglected every day.
A detailed initial examination revealed a long list of illnesses. The most dramatic were his demodicosis, filariasis and babesiosis. All three diseases had to be treated urgently.
Lucky was estimated to be 12 years old on admission and it must have been painful and confusing for him to suddenly find himself in a new environment, but he soon gained confidence and a new lust of life. The DCC is his only chance of cared-for sunset years!
Update 16.01.2024: Despite some good development in the beginning, Lucky got caught up by his horrible past quicker than we expected. He passed in the early morning. The damage caused by the previous neglect was too severe.
