Description:

We know that we cannot save all of Sri Lanka's dogs, but we do our best every day to make the world a better place for as many of them as possible. This also means that we support young Sri Lankan animal rights activists.

Max and his sister were cared for by a young Sinhalese woman who traveled a long way every day to feed the puppies. Her parents wouldn't let her bring the dogs home, so she desperately sought help. She had contacted various people and organizations but none helped - until we were informed. The two puppies lived in a suburb of Matara and thus far outside of our area, but we could not abandon them. We were on the road for half a day for the rescue and drove our tank almost empty.

Max and Mara were seriously ill with old injuries, severe calcium deficiency and severe malnutrition. Unfortunately, Mara was already too weak and died two weeks after arrival. But Max made it and is now one of our residents as part of the pack in our cow area. Max has undergone an incredible transformation and we would be very happy if he now finds animal-loving sponsors.
