Hello!

With our small, agile TukTuks, we provide urgently needed food day by day to more than 700 stray dogs and cats in southern Sri Lanka.
We also cover many kilometers daily to rescue injured or sick animals, carry out follow-up visits with adopters, and – since our clinic is currently overcrowded – to offer mobile medical care.
Thanks to our TukTuks, we are able to care for around 1,000 animals. In other words, without these vehicles, our work would simply not be possible.

But now, we are facing a serious problem:
Two of our TukTuks, after years of continuous use on rough roads and in the harshest weather conditions, are at the end of their lifespan.
The engines are badly worn, the underbodies almost completely rusted through – repairs are barely worthwhile. A complete breakdown is imminent.

What will happen to all the animals if we can no longer reach them?

At the same time, the number of emergency cases is rising dramatically.
We receive new cries for help every day, and we are already operating beyond our financial limits.
The impending loss of our vehicles hits us hard.

The cost of two new TukTuks, including the necessary special modifications, is around € 14,000 – an amount we simply cannot raise on our own.

That is why we are urgently asking for your support today:
Please help us with a donation. Your contribution will enable us to continue being there for the animals – because they have only us.

In the second quarter of 2025, we were once again able to maintain both the number of spay/neuter procedures and all other areas of our vital work at a consistently high level.

Our dogs in urgent need

This is Peach.

This poor girl was found in a heartbreaking condition – neglected, in pain, with raw, inflamed skin and bald patches.
Peach is suffering from multiple infections, including ringworm and babesiosis, which cause high fever and severe weakness. On top of that, she has a painful and advanced anal gland infection that makes even resting unbearable.
We began treatment immediately. But Peach will need time, intensive care, and ongoing medical support to recover.
Her daily care costs around €16–18, and she will need this help for several weeks.

Please help us support Peach on her road to recovery – every contribution makes a difference!

This is Burton.

Local residents found Burton wandering the streets with a bloody nose and thankfully informed us so that we could bring him to our clinic.
Our team discovered a large tumor in Burton’s nasal cavity, making it incredibly difficult for him to breathe. His nose is almost completely obstructed by the mass.
Burton now needs aggressive chemotherapy and will remain in our care for a long time – possibly for the rest of his life.

Please support Burton on his journey to recovery with a donation. Every bit of help counts!

This is Alicia.

Alicia was found helpless on the street – most of her fur had fallen out, and her skin was bloody and raw from constant scratching.
The diagnosis: demodicosis, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, and a severe infection that has left her extremely weak.
She is only two years old, yet her body shows clear signs of prolonged suffering. Mites were able to spread unchecked, causing extensive damage to her skin.
Our team immediately began treatment: medications, medicated baths, antibiotics, and therapies for the additional infections.
Her daily care costs around €16–18, and will be required for several weeks – possibly even months. Moreover, Alicia is pregnant. We will do everything we can to help her recover and ensure her puppies have a good start in life!

Alicia deserves a second chance. Please support her recovery with a donation – every bit of help makes a difference!

- SPONSORS URGENTLY NEEDED -

At the Dog Care Clinic, we are fully committed to helping every animal in need – often going far beyond our physical and financial limits.
It is only thanks to your donations that we can continue this vital work.
Sponsorships, in particular, are an invaluable form of support: they provide us with financial stability and allow us to allocate resources in a targeted and efficient way.

On our website, you’ll find over 350 dogs and hoofed animals currently available for sponsorship – each representing the many animals we care for every day.
Some of them are in especially urgent need of a sponsor right now – including these three:

These Dogs Desperately Need a Sponsor!
KAYO:

In June 2025, little Kayo was abandoned right in front of our clinic – badly injured and in severe pain. It was a heartbreaking scene.
We immediately took him in and began treatment. Sadly, his leg couldn’t be saved, and an amputation was unavoidable.
During his recovery, Kayo also suffered an allergic reaction to medication – but thanks to our dedicated team, he recovered quickly.
In Sri Lanka, a dog with a disability has virtually no chance of being adopted – and returning to the streets is simply not an option.
That’s why Kayo will stay with us at the Dog Care Clinic permanently. Here, he receives medical care, safety, and the loving companionship of his pack.
Despite everything he’s been through, Kayo is friendly, playful, and loves people.

Kayo doesn’t have a sponsor yet!
Would you like to help him start a better life by becoming his sponsor?

TOSSY:

When Tossy first came to us, she was in a heartbreaking state:
severely underweight, suffering from a large mammary tumor, and seriously ill with babesiosis.
Worst of all: she had an owner – someone who had watched her suffer for far too long and only sought help at the very last moment.
It took weeks of intensive care, medical treatment, and loving attention to stabilize her.
Then came the next setback: the owner demanded her return. With heavy hearts – but legally obligated – we had to let her go.
A month later, we visited Tossy unannounced: she was back on a short chain, emaciated, without shelter – once again left to suffer.
Now Tossy is back with us – and this time, she’s here to stay.
She deserves a life of safety, free from chains, hunger, and pain.

With your sponsorship, we can give her exactly that.
Would you like to support our sweet Tossy and become her very first sponsor?

SANA:

We’ve known Sana since 2011, when she first crossed our path during one of our daily feeding tours.
She lived as a free-roaming owned dog and would appear regularly over the years to receive food and care.
Sana had already spent time at our clinic on a few occasions.
But when we didn’t see her for an extended period, we decided to check on her at home – and were shocked by what we found:
After all these years, Sana had suddenly been chained up – on an extremely short leash.
Her family no longer wanted to care for the aging dog...
Of course, we freed Sana immediately and brought her back to the clinic.
Now she can spend her remaining years in dignity, surrounded by care and compassion.

If you have a heart for Sana, you can support her by becoming her very first sponsor.
Sana would be so grateful for your kindness.

Your Help Makes a Difference!

Every single day, we save lives. Perhaps you remember these three special cases? Your support reaches exactly where it’s needed most. See for yourself:

Fellini had a wire snare around his neck that had already cut deep into his flesh. Fortunately, he was found just in time!
He is currently still recovering at the clinic.

Leo was nothing but skin and bones, suffering from severe skin issues and multiple ruptured skin tumors.
Thankfully, this proud boy is now on the road to recovery!

Babesiosis, demodicosis, severe malnutrition, and a collapsed immune system – when Liema came to us, she was closer to death than to life.
But she, too, is making great progress!

Update on Chaminda:

Two months after surgery, Chaminda is unfortunately still physically impaired, has lost vision in one eye, and shows signs of aggression due to his brain injury – a deeply challenging situation for both his family and our entire team.

The surgery saved his life, but sadly, he will never be able to live a normal life again. This breaks our hearts.
Chaminda is currently waiting for a rehabilitation placement – but the next step is delayed as his treating physician is currently abroad.

The fundraising campaign continues, as care, rehabilitation, and medical support are not possible without help. Thank you so much for your continued support!
